A poem in tribute to the giant La Machine spider named La Princess. La Machine came to visit Liverpool for 3 days in August 2008 as part of the celebration events for Liverpool 2008 EuropeanCapital of Culture. Its arrival was shrouded in mystery and a great secret. I was asked to write a poem to perform on the Friday Billy Butler show (Radio Merseyside) and I only learnt about the arrival of La Princess when it was announced in the news on the Wednesday.
